The vlog is back-ish. Take a look at what we got up to on our recent day trip to Weston-Super-Mare here:
Except for my diary entries (which I generally write for selfish reasons, so I can look back and remember what on earth I was doing in 2017) I’ve been noticeably absent from my blog and vlog for the past few months. Take a quick squizz at this here video if you want to find out why…
Thanks lovelies x
Last month I turned 37 – eek! Fortunately, I was very lucky and was generously gifted lots of gorgeous presents to soften the blow a little.
If you fancy taking a snoop at what I received, check out the video below.
By the way, in no way am I boasting. It’s just a nice way for me to remember what I received and also might be good inspiration if you need ideas on what to buy a thirty something!
Hope you enjoy! x
A while back I wrote about Elliott’s routine and mentioned I would try to make a video to accompany it. Well, it’s taken a while (and this is only his morning routine) but here it is…
This video also goes by the name of ‘why it takes so long to get to the park’. Seriously toddler procrastination is something else. I had to edit loads out and yet there’s still plenty that remains.
Hope you enjoy.
What’s your morning routine?
Also – any tips for capturing toddlers at nappy change time?
Elliott loves books and, as a (sadly lapsed) bookworm myself I am so pleased! Find out what books he’s loving at the moment in this video…
Apologies it gets a bit garbled towards the end, I’d had a migrainey week so was still a bit fuzzy! Thanks for watching 🙂
You can find the books here:
What books should we add to our collection?

I feel a fraud for posting this…
I made this video back in November 2016 when I was recovering from Hand, Foot and Mouth (having already suffered with a sinus infection and tonsillitis since the start of October). The plan was in place, I was going to follow all these steps and emerge a healthy specimen. Erm, that didn’t really happen did it? Especially given that I’m currently fighting another sinus infection.
I was in two minds as to whether to post this or not, but thought I would so you can see what I’ve been trying to do to ward off lurgs. I’m sure some people assume I’ve just rolled over and succumbed to the bugs with little to no fight… Admittedly that fight hasn’t worked very well so far but we live in hope.
I also want to be able to circle back in a few months (when I am a healthy specimen – screw you lurg!) and update you on what worked and what didn’t, and that wouldn’t make a lot of sense if I didn’t post the original video, so here it is…
And, if you don’t have time to watch the video, here’s my ten-step plan summarised in good old fashioned words…
STEP 1 – Take Vitamins
I’ve been taking:
Wilko Echinacea tablets (there’s some similar ones here)
I’ve been keeping these in a pill dispenser to make sure I don’t forget to take them.
STEP 2 – Prevention
At the first sign of a sniffle I’ve been spraying this Vicks First Defence Micro-Gel Nasal Spray up my nostrils.
STEP 3 – Drink Water
I’ve been using this clever Daily Water App to keep track of my water consumption and trying to drink more.
STEP 4 – Meditation
I use these CDs (saved to my phone) when I meditate.
STEP 5 – Me Time
STEP 6 – Diet
I don’t eat that badly. Although I am a bit of a sugar fiend. I want to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables to aid my immunity.
STEP 7 – Exercise
I’ve been planning to do exercise, although this is really a work in progress. The last time I did exercise was when I did Yogabellies when Elliott was a baby.
STEP 8 – Get Enough Sleep
STEP 9 – Stress Less
STEP 10 – Practice Good Hygiene
By making like Robbie Williams and rubbing this all over my hands at every opportunity!
What do you do to help to boost your immunity in the winter months?

Going to see In The Night Garden Live was one of our highlights of 2016. The organisation and production was superb. Every little detail had been taken care of – organised buggy parking, tiered seating (with no actual seats), projections all around the auditorium, the fact that even the guy who directed us to our parking space opened with ‘You’re here for In The Night Garden? Iggle Piggle is expecting you’. The production itself was just gorgeous. I actually felt quite emotional watching Elliott watch the characters he loves to see on TV. If I’m honest Elliott was probably a little young for it last year. But this year? Oh my god – this year I am sure he is going to LOVE it – so we just had to get tickets!
If you’re thinking of going – DO! The show runs over the summer in Birmingham, Manchester and London.
Even better, if you book using the following link you’ll get £5 off an order over £60, or 5% off orders under £60. Simply book using this link to take advantage of this special offer: https://nightgardenlive.mention-me.com/m/ol/mq3jh-samantha-heathcock
What are you waiting for?
I know, I know! It’s late. Very, very late. I’ve only just got around to editing the footage from our New Year’s Eve spectacular. When I say spectacular I mean hallway raving, breakfast out, ready-meal eating, toddler dancing, bath-time bubbles bonanza. Ah, you’ll see. Hope 2017 is treating you all well so far xx
Hello there and a BIG, HUGE HAPPY NEW YEAR to you! I do hope you saw 2017 in style, whether that style be a sultry party dress or some comfortable PJs is entirely up to you. I opted for the latter and enjoyed a cosy night in with the hubster. Elliott even came to join us for the midnight fireworks on the telly (quite unintentionally – some local fireworks woke him up). I did video some of our new year’s eve celebrations so I will put that video live as soon as I’ve edited it. I’ve had a slow start to the year on the vlogging and blogging front (as you may tell) but I needed some time to take a step back and organise the crap out of my time. Again, a blog post for another time.
What I really dropped by was to tell you about the new video on my YouTube channel. It’s what Elliott got for Christmas, but it also goes by the name of ‘What happens when you try to film a video with a toddler in tow – A.K.A carnage’. Bless him! If you would care to take a look it’s here:
As always, not boasting. If I was I think I would have purchased Elliott some classy neutral toned wooden toys from John Lewis, rather than a £1.99 light up spinny round thing from Card Factory! I thought it might be quite interesting to film a catch up six months from now to see what Elliott is still playing with. What do you reckon?
Also, I’ve decided that my Facebook friends must be bored of my vlog spamming, blog spamming and toddler spamming them, so I’ve set up a dedicated Facebook page for Wrinkle Wrinkle Little Star to at least ease some of the spam for those who aren’t interested and a dedicated hub for those who are. If you’d care to give a it a like you can find it over at http://www.facebook.com/wwlittlestar.
So, how was your Christmas? What did you get? How did you celebrate?
My feet are only just hitting the ground post festivities. I would like to say that’s because I’ve been a social butterfly buoyed along by a whirlwind of family parties and glorious get-togethers. In reality it’s been due to being ill still/again. I visited the doctor about my cough and apparently because it’s just in the top part of my chest I’ve just got to ride it out… :(, I also now have conjunctivitis and, as a result, look like some kind of deranged James Bond villain! Oh the joys. Elliott is also teething and has a bit of a cold which means that rather than do anything exciting he wants to be picked up and carried by me as I go about my daily business. Today I honestly intended to have a fun day out. Instead we ended up going to Sainsbury’s to buy Anbesol, eye drops and a pack of baby vests! Talk about living the high life. To be honest staying in this morning was lovely anyway, what with Elliott stealing my breakfast and dancing around to Robbie’s latest album. I’m also loving Elliott’s insistence on using a coaster for his drink!
Anyway, I digress, the reason for my post is because I’ve finally got around to uploading the final 2016 Vlogmas video. It’s the Christmas Tag filmed on Christmas Eve. So if you want to know what tops our Christmas tree, whether I’m any good at wrapping gifts and what topical place name I can’t pronounce – it’s all here for your viewing pleasure.
